Dr. Farag obtained her medical degree from Cairo University in Egypt (Excellent with Hons.) She then completed her clinical and chemical pathology residency training at Cairo University during which she obtained her Master’s degree in clinical and chemical Pathology. She then obtained her PhD in Clinical Chemistry and molecular diagnostics from the same University.

After that she joined the Department of Clinical and Chemical Pathology, Cairo University as a faculty staff pathologist.

Dr Farag then moved to Canada where she completed her General Pathology residency training at University of Saskatchewan followed by her breast pathology fellowship training at University of Alberta. She then joined DynaLIFE medical labs as a consultant pathologist in 2018 where she practiced as an anatomic pathologist and breast expert, and she is the North Sector Lead of the Breast pathology subspecialty group in Alberta since 2019. She served as the Anatomic Pathology director at DynaLIFE then as an interim medical director, and became the Provincial Medical Director at DL in 2022.
