Dr. Tom Higa obtained his medical degree from the University of Alberta. He completed a residency in anatomical pathology at the University of Toronto and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. From 1995 – 2010, Dr. Higa combined his practice of pathology with administrative duties in differing combinations of the president, chief executive officer, and medical director of DynaLIFE.
He has contributed to numerous policy, strategic and academic committees related to laboratory medicine, both locally and provincially.
